Good afternoon I have a CPP 92070 column in my 32 Ford and the lower bearing is shot. Does anyone have a part number or dimensions for it , and how do I get the lower plate removed to get to the bearing itself, it has the shift mech going through it amd I cant get the plate that fixes to the shifter on the box free. Obviously it goes up to the top.of the column but I cant see a way to free it.

Good afternoon, thanks for reaching out.

The part number you referenced, CPP 92070, does not look like a valid or current CPP column number, so I’m not able to pull up exact specs or a replacement bearing based on that alone.

At this point, the best way for us to help is to confirm exactly what column you have. There have been a few variations over the years, especially with shift mechanisms, and the lower bearing setup can differ depending on the version.

If you can, please send us a few pictures of the column, specifically:

  • Lower end of the column where the bearing sits
  • The shift mechanism area
  • Any tags, markings, or overall column view

Once we can see what you have, we can help identify the correct bearing and walk you through how to get that lower plate apart without damaging anything.

Feel free to post them here or send them over, happy to help get you fixed up.
