CPP has introduced a new adjustable flow control valve designed for the contemporary type II GM power steering pump. This innovative valve enables users to modify the sensitivity or responsiveness of the power steering based on driving speeds.

It features nine distinct positions that regulate the flow between 1.75 and 3.75 gallons per minute.By adjusting the flow rate to a slower setting, the static pressure can be modified from 100 to 425 PSI, thereby reducing the initial power assist and creating a more natural steering feel.

Conversely, a higher flow rate results in the power assist engaging with minimal steering effort. It is important to note that the overall power assist remains constant; the valve solely influences the initial engagement of the power steering system. For instance, if it takes 3 lb/ft of torque to turn the steering wheel while parking, this requirement will remain unchanged regardless of the adjustment position.
